To me, rhetoric of space is how a space connects with a person due to the circumstances such as the past, the future, the people, and the emotions that it causes. I would describe the space for the ads as places where many individuals pass by. Because of that and because there are large amounts of ads in one location, peoples’ attention is brought up to what the ad is conveying. The frequency and the location of the ads makes individuals interested in what the ad is trying to convey. In “The Visual Rhetoric of Public Space”, the author writes about ads which are set up as front pages of newspapers in order to capture the viewers attention. They are also set up as the front pages of a newspaper in order to relate to what the ad is trying to convey. In this case, the ad is reminding viewers of Sauk leader’s, Blackhawk’s, past. This ad was put in a busy place, on a black fence which will capture the attention of many individuals and remind them of a certain period of time which people might have forgotten about.
